The third batch of 448 Ghanaians trapped in Libya were flown to Accra on Wednesday night aboard a Libyan aircraft. They were made up of 428 men, 18 women and four children, according to a statement signed by Mr James Owusu-Amoah, Public Relations Officer of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).

This brings to 1,587 the total number of Ghanaians so far evacuated after the government moved to bring home citizens who were trapped in Libya following attacks on immigrants. The statement said more flights with Ghanaian returnees are expected.

NADMO asked those who returned on the Ghana Airways flight on Sunday October 8 without their luggage to report to the national official hangar one at Kotoka International Airport to identify and collect them. They should report between 0800 and 1700 hours with their baggage tags for easy identification.
