Koforidua, May 8, GNA - The voters registration and revision exercise is said to be getting on well in the New Juaben Municipality as more people who have attained the voting age are registering.

As at the close of the exercise on Sunday, five, out of the 132 polling centres in the municipality had registered more than 50 new voters each. The Municipal Electoral Officer, Mr Paul Adusei who made this known to the Ghana News Agency in Koforidua on Monday, said his office is still evaluating progress of the exercise.

He said, so far, there has not been any serious problems on the exercise in the municipality, adding that, people were getting more and more interested everyday.

According to Mr Adusei, the municipality had received enough registration materials and polling assistants have been coming to collect them; indicating that more people who have attained the voting age are registering.

He cautioned that it is an offence for any person to prevent anyone from registering and appealed to party agents who might suspect the age of a prospective voter to file protest notes instead of engaging in confrontation.

Mr Adusei appealed to the general public to support the exercise to make it a success.
