Five armed robbers top the list of the most wanted criminals on the radar of the Accra Regional Police Command.

They are Muntari, Eric Ayawa, Iddrisu Salifu, Romani and Rocky, alias Liberia.


The above criminals have committed some of the most heinous crimes ranging from armed robbery to murder.


Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Christian Tetteh Yohuno told The Finder in an interview that Muntari is a member of the gang that robbed a Guinness depot at Laterbiokoshie and killed a security officer on duty.


They then went on to rob a petrol bay at Bortianor on the Mallam-Kasoa Road, after which they bolted.


DCOP Yohuno said Muntari supplied weapons to Ademu Ganja and Omar, two of his accomplices in the Laterbiokoshie Guinness depot case, to commit robberies.

Muntari, who was wearing dreadlocks, is believed to have shaved his dreadlocks and fled to Libya.


According to him, names such as Aya, Scaro, alias Panyin, Muntari, Twui, Tei, Chaka, Muntaka, Jordan and Roland Hayford, who are mostly residents of Tebibiano in Teshie, form a terrifying robbery gang that operates around Airport Hills, Teshie Nungua, Oyibi and its environs.


He explained that Eric Ayawa was among a gang of eight who went to Appolonia, near Ashaiman, attacked two victims, shot them and stole Ghc2000, two mobile phones and touch lights.


awuyaDCOP Yohuno said Romani is an accomplice of Rabiu, the notorious armed robber who was killed a couple of years back.


He said Romani and his gang killed a police officer during a robbery at UBA in Tema.

The Accra Regional Police Commander identified Rocky, alias Liberia, as a member of a gang that robbed a businessman of gold and snatched a taxi to escape.


muntariAccording to him, Rocky and his gang killed a taxi driver at Dunkwa-on-Offin last year.


DCOP Yohuno said the Accra Regional Command plans an all-out manhunt to apprehend all criminals.


He appealed to the public to volunteer information on the criminals to help the police arrest them.
