Motor rider fined for careless riding

The Hohoe Magistrate Court has fined Aviakpo Dogbeda, 25, a tricycle rider GHC540.00 for riding without a license, careless and inconsiderate driving.

Dogbeda who pleaded guilty to the charges, would in default serve two months imprisonment.

Police Inspector George Doe, presenting the facts of the case to the court said on April 15, 2019, at about 0830 hours, the accused was speeding on a road which links Hohoe-Oklahoma and Gbi-Bla.

According to the Prosecution, when the accused got to the junction, he ignored all road safety regulations and rode onto the major road in a careless manner, resulting in him nearly hitting the vehicle of the Divisional Police Commander.

Inspector Doe said Dogbeda was arrested and during interrogation, he admitted the offences.
