An unconfirmed report intercepted by GHANAIAN CHRONICLE indicated that the management the Abosso GoldFields had given one of its expatriate employees, 24 hours to leave the country.

According to the CHRONICLE, the said repatriate, Mr. Patrick Spethfield, the Chief geologist was busted yesterday afternoon hiding sand, suspected to be gold, in his house at Abosso.

In an attempt to hide the deal from the government and from being exposed to the public, the management of the mining company, who are mostly South Africans, have given their chief geologist a 24-hour ultimatum to leave the country.

The street value of the gold seized from him was put at $100,000.

The source told the GHANAIAN CHRONICLE that, if the Ghanaian security men did not act quickly, the man would be smuggled out of the country.
