Mpasatia (Ash), Nov 3, GNA- Mr Eddy Obeng-Darko, the Atwima District Director of Education on Tuesday inspected a 400 million-cedi boys dormitory for Mpasatia Secondary/Technical School provided by the school's Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). More than 300 million cedis had been spent on the project for more than 180 students.

Mr Kwasi Adu-Gyamfi, the Headmaster and Rev Thomas Takyi, chairman of the board of governors of the school accompanied Mr Obeng-Darko to inspect the project.

Mr Adu-Gyamfi said the dormitory was financed through a special PTA levy of 90,000 cedis per head.

The school, he said currently has boarding facilities for only 216 boys and 150 girls and appealed to the District Assembly, the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) to assist the school with facilities.

He said the school had renovated the old four-classroom block at a cost of 40 million cedis while the PTA re-painted it. Mr Obeng-Darko commended the PTA and the school authorities for their foresight and initiative, which, he said, had tremendously improved the school infrastructure and academic performance. He called for enforcement of discipline in the school and also asked the tutors to work hard to improve the school's academic output. Mr Obeng-Darko cautioned male teachers against sexual harassment of female students and warned that severe punishment would be meted out to teachers caught in such acts.
