Daboase (Westerm Region) 23 Sept., The Mpohor Wassa East District Assembly will no longer pay for the extra cost of contracts submitted as a result of delays in the execution of projects by contractors. Mr A. E. Aggrey, District Chief Executive, said this in his maiden address to the Assembly at its first ordinary meeting at Daboase yesterday. ''Indeed and in fact, payment of variations will not be my stock in trade and I intend to warn all contractors executing our jobs to do it on schedule and collect their monies or delay and be blacklisted,'' Mr Aggrey added. He said in view of the numerous bills the Assembly carried over from 1996 and inadequacy of its share of the common fund for 1997, the Assembly will not be able to take up new development projects. ''It is also my policy that the Assembly should by the end of the year free itself from deficit financing'', he said.
