We members of the Patriotic Youth Front, an amalgamation of the youth force within the New Patriotic Party, are deeply angered by the scandalous and reckless outburst of Mr. Kwame Mpianim, during the launch of a presidential hopeful’s campaign, namely Prof. Frimpong Boateng, on 19th May 2010.
Mr. Kwame Mpianim, in his quest to project his candidate, did stated emphatically and we quote “if u are a man of laziness, corruption and incompetence go and look for one of the presidential candidates to vote for him”. He went on further to state again “we are looking for a leader not a flag bearer; and that any idiot can hold the flag”
We want to state unequivocally that those sentiments were not only palpably untrue, but a well-orchestrated attempt, to put the name of our party in disrepute and divert attention from the litany of adversities of the Mills-Mahama Administration.
We do believe, all the presidential hopefuls within our party, are extremely competent, highly knowledgeable and posses the requisite leadership skills to drive the affairs of the party and the nation forward. However, there will be only one winner, which the discerning delegates shall decide on August 7 this year.
Mr. Kwame Mpianim over the period has gain notoriety in causing mischief and controversies to the detriment of all. Undoubtedly, this attest to the fact that he is in bed with the ruling National Democratic Party, without sincerity to the course of his party, just to achieve his narrow parochial interest.
We strongly caution Mr. Kwame Mpianim from further making frivolous statements to cause stir in our party and not to throw stones, when he lives in a glass house, or as concerned youth, we shall “strip his pants down”.
We further urge our presidential hopeful, Prof. Frimpong Boateng, to publicly, denounce the scandalous statements made by Mr. Kwami Mpianim on his platform, in other not to muddy his chances and hard won reputation.
Lastly, we advise all well-wishers of the noble tradition of Danquah-Busia-Dombo, not to entertain such characters within and outside of our party, since their sole interest is to visit mayhem on us. We assure them, our tradition shall grow from strength to strength in restoring hope and prosperity to all meaningful Ghanaians.
