A whirlwind of pomp and revelries swept the Ghanaian Chicago Community on the evening of March 28 into the wee hours of March 29 2015 at the Dorchester Crystal Ballroom, 1515 E 154th Street, Dolton Illinois.
The spot light was beamed on Mrs. Juliet Owusu, as she marks her golden birthday with a party that will be talked about for a very long time in the Ghanaian in Chicago. The hall was well decorated with long vases filled with beautiful flowers and mini chandeliers whilst the tables were covered with Gold and Aquamarine colored cloth which created an elegant ambience for the occasion. Over 500 family, friends and well-wishers of the celebrant jam-packed spacious hall. Notable of mention are members of the Ga Adangbe Association, the Fante Benevolent Society and the African United Methodist Church of Chicago, who massively came to support the Owusu family. Mrs. Juliet Owusu is a member of the three groups.
Brother Kingsley Sarpong of the African United Methodist Church prayed for the success of the celebrations.
D.J Bonsu was as usual impressive with his selections for the occasion. His mixtures of Funk, Hip Life, Old School and the likes kept the crowd on their feet all night long. The best Ghanaian Live band in the US, the Nyansapo Band, marveled the crowd with their varieties of old school dance music tunes.
The Owusu family expresses their sincerest thanks to all who contributed in diverse ways to make the birthday celebrations a memorable one.
