Despite his lighthearted denials this week for the best part of the two years, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. blamed the ruling NPP for cooking up the $125,000 bribe scandal to suck the oxygen of credibility from his nigh full time job of criticizing Government.
He went as far as to make what has been described as a most perverse statement by crying out loud that because of this alleged-state inspired $125,000 bribe allegations, he had never felt more traumatized under any other regime than under this constitutionally-elected government of President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Though the revelation that Nana Fitz, 63, was the original source of the allegation, Kwesi Pratt has refused to be denied the opportunity to use the $125,000 to take more political pot-shots at the Kufuor administration, zooming in on the President?s press secretary, Kwabena Agyepong.
In what may come across as the most extraordinary twist so far to this tale, Kwesi Pratt is now pointing fingers at ?faceless? NDC big men. According to him, some NDC people were involved in this scam. His information is that two leading members of the NDC advised his sources, not to doubt the story, started by Nana Fitz that Kwesi Pratt Jnr had been gotten at by the opposition party to do its bidding for its.
The Statesman can reveal the name of one of the alleged ?faceless? people within the NDC who have allegedly linked Kwesi Pratt to an NDC bribery. This person is none other than the former first lady and leader of the 31st December Women?s Movement, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
According to sources, Mrs. Rawlings had on occasions displayed uncontrolled annoyance with what she saw as Kwesi Pratt?s inclination to assert his independence by occasionally hitting at her party. Kwesi Pratt has thrown some light on Nana Fitz?s apparent connection with the NDC. Interestingly Nana Fitz has various other times claimed to be a sympathizer of the NDC. The Nissan he currently drives around used to belong to the NDC.
