The Peristrofi world Honourary International Awards has honoured two Ghanaian personalities for their immense contribution to the socio-economic development and national relations.

The Awardees included Mr Amarkai Amatefio, former Swedish Consul in Ghana and Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, former first lady.

Mr Amatefio received an Honourary Ambassador of International Relations and Doctor of Social Service while Mrs Rawlings was conferred with Honourary Woman of the Moment and Ambassador of Woman into Politics in West Africa.

Conferring the awards on Monday, Dr Divine Gabriel Brefo, the President and Vice Chancellor of Peristrofi Masters Theology International describe the awardees as distinctive leaders with proven track record, dignity and self-discipline.

He said these leaders are without “questionable” character in their area of success and achievement.

He described Mr Amatefio as someone who contributed to the transformation of international relations.

“You have served Ghana, and the international community with distinction, dignity and honour without any records of corruption and indiscipline,” he added.

For Mrs Rawlings, he said the desire of her to see the emancipation of women at all levels of development and her contribution to the socio-economic development has earned her the awards.

“You played a crucial role in the adoption of the “Intestate Succession Law,” which was applicable to the survivor of anyone dying without a will,” she noted.

Mr Amatefio on behalf of the awardees expressed gratitude to the organisers for recognising their contribution to mother Ghana and pledged to promote the relations between Ghana and Sweden.
