Mugabe Maase apologizes for 'false' allegations against Ashie Moore

Mugabe Maase, a broadcast journalist and host of Insight Politics on Power 97.9 FM and TV XYZ, recently made allegations against Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

During an episode of Insight Politics, Maase accused Moore of secretly accepting T-shirts and a significant amount of money from Arise Ghana.

This claim was made despite attempts by the NDC's Deputy National Communications Officer, Ako Gunn, who advised Maase to be cautious with his words to avoid further confusion within the Greater Accra Regional Executives.

Mugabe Maase alleged that Rex Omar had disclosed the T-shirts and money issues to him during a private conversation.

However, days later, Rex Omar, a leading member of the Arise Ghana pressure group, appeared on the Insight Politics show to refute these claims.

Omar stated unequivocally that he had never given any T-shirts or money to Ashie Moore and had no business or conversation with him.

He urged viewers to disregard the allegations made by Maase as false.

“I want to apologize to Hon. Ashie Moore that nobody is having any plan to tarnish his image or destroy his reputation. We want to solve our internal issues, and the most important thing is to win the elections… I have never said anything of that sort,” he stated.

Following Rex Omar’s clarification, Mugabe Maase retracted his statements about Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore.

According to him, his retraction aims to mend any rifts and ensure a cohesive front for the party moving forward.

“I thank you for clarifying the issue, but I don’t want us to start from the beginning because we have work to do to win the 2024 elections, and the enemies want us to be confused to be able to point fingers that Mugabe is fighting with people within the party.

“If we said something here and it didn’t go well with Hon. Ashie Moore, for the interest of the NDC and the millions of supporters under the umbrella fraternity supporting John Mahama… I will call him and ask him to forgive me.

“If what transpired didn’t sit well with him, he should forgive. What I said, if he wasn’t pleased, I also retract,” he expressed.
