Minority Chief Whip Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has served a warning to the retained Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako affectionately called Chairman Wontumi that the Asawase parliamentary seat is a no-go area for him.

The Asawase Constituency parliamentary seat which has been a safe seat for National Democratic Congress (NDC) will forever remain the preserve the party, according to the Muntaka who is Member of Parliament ( MP) for the area

“Till thy kingdom come, NDC will continue to win the seat”, he, therefore, warned the leadership of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stay away from any heinous plan to snatch the seat from him.

Chairman Wontumi has vowed to wrestle the seat including two others in the region currently occupied by NDC lawmakers in any election indicating that he was itching for the 2020 elections to be held.

But recently addressing NDC supporters in Kumasi, Hon. Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak admonished Chairman Antwi Bosiako to shut his dream which is far from reach.

“In the 2016 polls, NPP led by Wontumi boasted of winning the seat but after the election, I met and asked him why he has not resigned as he said after failing to win for his party he will but he ran away”.

“I want to send a clear message to Wontumi and NPP that they should not dare try because if I Muntaka is not there as MP for Asawase, I have groomed more than ten people who can equally do the parliamentary work better than me”, he warned.

“I want to tell everyone here that NPP and Wontumi are just making an empty noise but we in NDC are not bothered”, Hon. Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak assured hundreds of converged NDC supporters.
