Murder suspect arrested at Suhum

Suhum, March 27, GNA -Agya Appiah, a 27-year-old mason and caretaker of the Betel Presbyterian Church, Suhum Bungalow branch, is helping the Suhum police to solve the murder of a 10-year-old class three pupil of the local Anglican school.

A police source who gave the name of the deceased as Eunice Tetteh, told the GNA that the deceased was found buried in a shallow grave behind the church premises.

He said the deceased lived with her grandmother at "44", a suburb of Suhum where she sold porridge for a living. The source said on March 22 this year, the deceased left home to sell porridge but never returned. According to the police source, Appiah claimed he was cleaning the church premises for the evening service where he spotted a dug out behind the church.

The source said Appiah told the police that when he went to inspect the hole he discovered that a human being who was murdered was buried in it. Appiah was said to have reported the incident to the Presbyterian District Pastor who also informed the police and Appiah was arrested. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased who was believed to have been also raped before murdered had been conveyed to the police hospital morgue for autopsy.
