Cape Coast, May 19, GNA - The body of Miss Anetta Adjei Boafo, a first year student of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), who was allegedly murdered by her former boyfriend on April 27, will be released to her family on Friday.

Chief Inspector Augustine Amonoo, prosecutor in charge of the case in which Michael Berkoe, a first year student of the UCC has been charged with Miss Boafo's murder, disclosed this to the GNA at Cape Coast on Tuesday.

Miss Boafo's body had been deposited at the UCC hospital mortuary for autopsy and for further police investigations into the case. Meanwhile, a magistrate's court at Cape Coast, presided over by Mr Asare Duah, where Berkoe is on a provisional charge of murder, on Tuesday adjourned the case for a month, to enable the police complete investigations.

Berkoe, 20, whose plea has still not been taken, was returned to prison custody.

Chief inspector Amonoo had earlier asked for an adjournment to enable the completion of investigations and the sending of the docket to the Attorney-General's (A-G's) office for advice.

He said, the prosecution was yet to receive the pathologist's report from the UCC hospital.

Counsel for Berkoe asked the court to urge the prosecution to expedite investigations to ensure that hearing begins on the adjourned date.

Berkoe, 20, allegedly murdered Miss Boafo on April 27 at the 'New hall' at the UCC, by stabbing her.
