Communication Director of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Nii Armah Akomfrah, says the CPP will not be affected by the resignation of its Youth Organizer.

At a press conference yesterday, Murtala Mohammed, youth organizer of the CPP resigned from the party following what he calls bastardization from some party executives, especially after his interdiction.

One can recall that Murtala Mohammed together with other officials were interdicted by the Central Committee of the CPP for misconduct following a complaint and an allegation that they were mobilizing members of the party to join the Progressive People’s Party (PPP).

Speaking on TV3 News @ 10, Nii Armah Akomfrah said Murtala Mohammed is not the youth Organiser of the party, adding: “Murtala Mohammed is irrelevant in this election and irrelevant to the CPP. We have an Acting Youth Organizer who has performed wonders in the last few months and so we wish him (Murtala Mohammed) well.

In a quick rebuttal on the same platform, Murtala Mohammed said he was voted for as the youth organizer and has now decided to resign based on actions and inactions of the CPP.

He has called on the youth in CPP to leave because they have no future in there. According to him, CPP is made up of a conservative cult which is not allowing the youth to progress and be vibrant.

“Nii Armah Akomfrah is entitled to his own opinion. I contested that position and won. It is not by gratis; the stooge that they have put there as the national youth organizer, contested with me and I beat him. Nii Akomfrah also contested and he lost. He doesn’t even understand how to win an election in Ghana…If the conservative cult is destroyed before any youth can thrive in that party: you can check the history, all youth organizers did not survive: Oteng Adjei, Kabilla didn’t survive and they have done the same thing to me…” he asserted.

For now he says he is a volunteer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP)
