Gomoa Mozano (C/R), Sept 2, GNA- The Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC), Colonel K. K. Nyame, has denied and described rumours that this year Peace Festival of the Church was hit by trouble.

He also denied news reports that the festival, which started in August 2006, had been postponed because of mayhem at Mozano. Col Nyame was speaking at a news conference at Gomoa Mozano in reaction to statements by some non-members of the Church on the celebration, which had been stopped for three years due to litigation between the Church Leaders and the Ex-Spiritual Head, Prophet Miritauha Jona Jehu-Appiah, Akaboha III.

The IMC Chairman said members of the Church were shocked to see armed policemen patrolling the town because nothing had happened in the town since the beginning of the festival The Reverend Samuel Jehu-Appiah, Acting General Secretary of the Church, advised members of the Church to participate in the forthcoming District Level and Unit Committees elections scheduled to come off on September 12, 2006.

He said it was the civic responsibility of every member of the Church to vote in elections to ensure effective and efficient development of their electoral areas. Rev Jehu-Appiah noted that this year's celebration revived economic, social and cultural activities.
