Cape Coast, March 5, GNA - The Ghana Muslim Students Association of Ghana (GMSA) has expressed concern about the outbreak of fresh violence at Bawku, and called on the people to exercise restraint and comply with government directives for an amicable and lasting solution to the conflict.

In a release issued at Cape Coast on Thursday and signed by Mr Umar Ahmed, National President, said it was aware of the efforts being made by government to bring the situation under control. It suggested that to enhance restoration of peace in the area, government should institute a "proper" dialogue with the chiefs, opinion leaders and youth groups.

The statement said the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General should not delay in prosecuting perpetrators of the carnage, and the security agencies allowed to perform. It was optimistic these measures would help to resolve the conflict in the area.
