Takoradi, Oct. 13, GNA - Nasir Ahmad Kahloon, Western Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, on Saturday called on Muslims to assist their poor and destitute Muslim brothers and people who belong to other faiths. He made the call at the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr at Effiakuma New Site near Takoradi.

Nasir Kahloon said the main objective of the Ramadan was to impress upon Muslims not to forget the poor and the needy in the society. He urged Muslims to exchange visits with the poor to make them happy during and after the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Nasir Kahloon said another objective of the Ramadan was to teach Muslims that Allah is almighty and to increase their worship of Allah. He advised Muslims to celebrate the festival in accordance with the prescriptions of Islam and not to leave Allah out of the celebration. More TRS

Addressing orthodox Muslims at the Jubilee Park in Takoradi, Sheikh Ustaz-Awal, Chief Imam of Takoradi, refuted rumours that some Muslim communities ended the Ramadan fasting on October 12 instead of October 13. He said all Muslims in the country ended their fasting on October 13 and Muslims in some foreign countries ended their fasting earlier because of the difference in time. Sheikh Ustaz-Awal appealed to the government to ensure that foreign films coming into the country are effectively censored to eliminate pornographic films.
