The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central Constituency in the Central region, Kennedy Agyapong has stated that the loyalty shown to him by the Muslims communities in Ghana is incomparable.

He said he cannot find words to describe Muslims’ loyalty shown to him adding that he’s always happy to reciprocate the love and blessings he receives from the Muslim Community.

Mr Agyapong who was arrested and charged for treason for inciting Akans to kill Ewes explained that he developed deeper love for Muslims after some youth saved him with their prayers when he was arrested in 2012.

He recalled the Muslim youth both men and women were seriously praying for his release some few meters away from the police headquarters.

‘When I came out of the armour vehicle, I saw some Muslims who had sat on the ground near the police headquarters praying for my release. I was so touched, Muslims in Ashaiman went to my cold shop to watch the place for me, Muslims in Mamobi also had a picture of President Akufo-Addo then NPP flagbearer with mine attached to it. I’m always happy to reciprocate the love shown me,’ he recalled in an interview with Net 2 TV monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

To show his love to Muslims, he donated items worth millions of cedis to the Chief Imam Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu and some Muslim communities ahead of Ramadan on Wednesday June 5, 2019.

Some of the items include 300 bags of rice, 100 boxes of cooking oil and others.

He indicated that he donates items to the Muslim community every year but decided to extend his donation to the house of the Chief Imam eulogizing him for visiting a Catholic church to celebrate his 100th birthday.

He said the Chief Imam deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for being a peace maker.

The outspoken law maker said churches and mosques in Ghana have not experienced bombings because the Chief Imam and some pastors are noted for peace.

The business mogul who has returned from his travels in some parts of the World after missing on the political scene for some weeks, in an interview with Net 2 TV monitored by MyNewsGh.com, said, ‘Our Muslim brothers and sisters will start their Ramadan tomorrow Wednesday, I do the donation every year to Muslim brothers and sisters but this time I want to extend the donation to the house of Chief Imam. During his 100th birthday he exhibited that he’s a man of peace’.

Debunking claims that he donates to Muslims only, Kennedy Agyapong said he replicates same gesture to Christians during Christmas calling on people not to make case about his donation and allow Muslims and Christians to continue to live in harmony.

‘I visit about ten to twelve churches during Christmas to donate to them,’ he explained.

He indicated that his staff at Kumasi-based Ash FM also donated some of the items to the Muslim communities in Kumasi.

He assured that the donation has nothing to do with politics.
