'My DNA is Akufo-Addo' – Titus-Glover declares

Aspiring National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, has vowed to defend former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo against what he considers unfair attacks and insults.

According to him, his strong defence of the former president stems from the support and opportunities Akufo-Addo gave him during his political career.

Speaking on Channel One TV on September 15, 2026, Titus-Glover said he has immense respect for the former president and considers him a role model, although he acknowledged that, like any human being, Akufo-Addo could make mistakes.

“My DNA is Akufo-Addo. When you cut my blood, you see Akufo-Addo’s blood,” he said, explaining the depth of his loyalty to the former president.

Titus-Glover recalled that Akufo-Addo appointed him as Greater Accra Regional Minister after he had lost his parliamentary seat, despite an earlier position that Members of Parliament who lost their seats would not be appointed to government positions.

He noted that Akufo-Addo subsequently reviewed the position and appointed other former MPs to government positions, arguing that there was nothing wrong with making exceptions when individuals had the capacity to contribute to government.

The former regional minister said he remains grateful for the opportunities Akufo-Addo gave him, including serving as a Deputy Minister, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Chief Executive Officer and later Regional Minister.

“He has done so much for me. And that is why you see that I don't accept anyone going after him or attacking him,” he said.

Titus-Glover also criticised what he described as a culture of personal insults in political discourse, particularly attacks directed at the former president.

He said while he believes Akufo-Addo can be criticised over his policies and decisions, he does not support what he considers excessive or disrespectful attacks against him.

“I can critique him. But the way and the level of insult they can have against Akufo-Addo, I don't think he'd reply in the same manner. So, these policies of insult, I don't buy that,” he stated.

He added that he would continue to speak out whenever he believes Akufo-Addo was being unfairly attacked.

“So, anybody who go after Akufo-Addo, I'll go after you as well,” Titus-Glover stressed.
