Management of “My Story Magazine” have officially unveiled the maiden edition of the journal in Accra.

The magazine, which will be published quarterly will tell stories of African entrepreneurs. It is also expected to service as a one-stop platform for up-to-date trends and information on investment opportunities in Africa.

Speaking at the launch, the Chief Executive Officer and publisher of My Story Magazine, Nana Akwasi Bonsu said it was important for the African success stories to be told by Africans. According to him, the print, online and social media platform given to entrepreneurs to advertise their products/services will go a long way to put the spotlight on the country’s hidden yet successful endeavors.

“This is just the basis, we are also online and next week we will be coming out with an app. To meet a large audience, we need social media and online, that’s the future of the world and Africa so all the stories in our magazine can be found online. You don’t have to pay to have your story told, it’s your experience and once you share it with us, we will put it out there.”

He also urged the youth to take advantage of the platform to learn more about entrepreneurship and business opportunities available in the country.

Guest speaker at the event, Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay commended the team for its initiative and stressed on the need for the youth to grow more innovative. According to Mr. Orleans-Lindsay it was disheartening to watch the youth go after money when they can create solutions to issues and generate income from these solutions.

“We need to create our own world and tell our own stories. Magazines spring out and disappear, but this people have proven to me that they are here to stay. The youth can do this, they can do more than this, they just need to work hard and stay focused.”
