My businesses collapsed under John Mahama’s Administration - Odike

Akwasi Addai Odike, founder of United Progressive Party (UPP) has given an account of how his businesses suffered under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration giving him a very hard time.

He blames the previous administration for its inability to put in place measures aimed at protecting local businesses in the wake of the proliferation of foreign ones coupled with bad policies by the then government.

Though the private sector has been touted as the engine of growth and one of the major employers in the country, he disclosed that it was not given the needed attention under the John Mahama administration which is why his businesses came crumbling.

On Kumasi-based Abusua FM, he was optimistic that the current administration will formulate policies and programmes that will favour the private sector and improve businesses rather that collapse time as it was the case in time past.

‘‘I suffered a lot when the NDC was in power since 2008, my business went down drastically I tell you Kwame’’

‘’All my business proposals and documents I sent to the NDC government were never approved to enable me to grow my businesses’’ Odike told Kwame Adinkra host of Abusua Nkommo on Tuesday.

He continued: ‘from what I am seeing the economic will change come next year because of what President Akufo Addo is putting in place. I foresee a major facelift in the private sector in 2018’’
