Founder and Leader of Glorious Word Ministry, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah has responded to reports and sentiments suggesting his prophecies may be ‘false’ and ‘conjured’ owing to the number of times some of his prophecies failed to realize in previous times.
Rev. Owusu Bempah is known widely for his flurry of controversial prophecies spoken prior to every New Year.
Although a number of his prophecies have come to pass including those regarding the incumbent President Akufo-Addo’s win in the 2016 elections as well as that of US President Donald Trump, several others did not materialize leaving many with doubts about the integrity of the man of God.
According to Rev. Owusu Bempah however, it is baseless for anyone to call his prophecies ‘false or lies’ for the mere reason that they did not manifest. He argues that every prophecy comes with conditions; most of them will either manifest or not depending on the actions that are taken immediately after the words are spoken.
“You’ll see that some people say that the prophet prophesied and it didn’t come to pass, do you know what happened in the spirit when the prophet prophesied? Someone perhaps did something to avert that negative prophecy which is why it didn’t happen. It doesn’t mean that the prophet prophesied lies.”
“There may be a prophecy about a nation and it may require the prayers of all its citizens or a group of people, or some anointed people. If these persons don’t pray, that calamity may happen so never say we prophesied and it didn’t come to pass.”
He condemned assertions that prophesies he made some years back regarding the death of Former President Mahama were ‘fake’. According to him, prayers of persons like himself was the only thing that saved him.
“Those also saying that President Mahama didn’t die even after I said he will, do you know how many of his people came to see me and certain prayers that were offered? And because of that God delivered him and even with that, we saw a bit of harm come to him; that his aircraft almost crashed, he had a forced landing, that was a sign that but for prayer, something evil would have happened. So never say that the prophet made a false prophecy…”
He urged Ghanaians to desist denigrating his ministry with their comments. Instead he says, they should focus on praying to cancel the effect of the negative ones and praying that the good ones among them are realized.
“So church, when any prophecy comes, prayers must be offered, if it is a good prophecy, pray it comes to pass, if it’s a bad prophecy, pray it is forestalled. Every prophecy that comes is either good or bad and that which is bad is what Satan dwells on to cause destruction."
"The only thing that can stop a negative prophecy from being manifested is prayers. God can use the prayers of one person to stop a disaster from occurring."
