President of the republic, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has made an official comment on how he felt defeating his fiercest contender, John Mahama in the recently held general elections of 2016.

Addressing a cross section of business leaders at the Konrad Adenaeur Foundation’s Academy in Germany, the president relished how “historic” his election victory continues to be for him and the party as a whole.

According to Nana Addo, the December 7th elections of 2016 saw a massive improvement in the political fortunes of the NPP as the party was able to not only secure a majority in parliament but also win the hearts of Ghanaians.

This, the president says shows how much Ghanaians thirsted for change under the “economic hardships” of the erstwhile NDC administration. But in the wake of the NPP’s victory, both party and government is currently faced with heightened levels of violence from vigilante groups and also the menace of illegal small scale mining.

Also, government is feared to be faced with the looming effects of the energy crisis as government continues to find ways and measures of tackling the repressive debts owed various fuel stations as well as fuel distributors.
