NACOB’s Nana Osei Nkwantabisa norminated most influential young Ghanaian

The Public Relations Officer of Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) and also the Nkosuohene (Development and Welfare Chief) of Lower Axim Traditional Area, Nana Osei Nkwantabisa, has been nominated as one of the 50 most influential young Ghanaians under Leadership and Civil Society category.

According to the organisers, this year’s list features young people who have made remarkable contributions towards their respective fields and have extended impact on other young people across Ghana and beyond.

Nana Osei Nkwantabisa is noted for championing the developmental agenda of Nzemaland and the Western Region at large through the Nkwantabisa Foundation.

He recently donated over 50 beds and other medical equipment to the Axim Government Hospital and 15 other CHIPS Compounds of Nzema East Municipality of the Western Region.

He also sponsored the training of over 150 women in vocational training, donated mathematical sets to all BECE Candidates/ schools of Nzema East Municipality, a project he started in 2013 till now.

He led the fundraising and renovation of Axim Government Hospital Surgical Ward.

At NACOB, Nana Osei Nkwantabisa has distinguished himself as the most dynamic manager of his department.

He also won multiple awards at the 2016 Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI), Nigeria Cohort 1; an initiative introduced by former President Barack Obama, as the most disciplined participant and best in presentation skills.

He holds two masters, thus an MA in Development Communication from Ghana Institute of Journalism and an Executive Master of Arts in Conflict Peace and Security from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre.

Some of his achievements include the Promotion of annual Western Region Inter-District independence Day quiz competition for JHS, Initiator and Promoter of annual Osagyefo Inter-School Soccer tournament since 2010 in honour of Ghana's first President Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

He is also the Chairman of the annual Axim Traditional Area Kundum Festival Planning Committee.
