NADMO Plots To Rig Elections –Ken Agyapong

The New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong has accused the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) of plotting to rig Friday’s polls by packing ballot papers and boxes to the Northern Region. Addressing residents and party supporters at an NPP rally in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale, Mr. Agyapong claimed, “around 9PM in Accra, the workers of NADMO have been packing ballot boxes, ballot papers and motor bikes and have been transporting them to the Northern Region with the aim of preventing the Electoral Commission from conveying the ballot boxes to the polling stations by putting them on the motor bikes.”

“We are not going to allow any individual to pick the ballot boxes to the polling station.”

The NPP firebrand advised party supporters to be vigilant because “Ghana belongs to all of us. It is not for a few individuals. Today, there is so much talk about peace. I support peace... if there is no justice, there is no peace. We want justice.”

Mr. Agyapong also gave the assurance that the NPP was a party which had the interest of the nation at heart, especially the youth.

“So I am pleading with the youth of this region; December 7, don’t be intimidated. They are coming with all sorts of tricks, they want to intimidate us but trust me, with God on our side, we are going to resist every intimidation in this region.”

It Looks Like Nana Akufo Addo Disturbing trends in particularly the Ashanti region, thought to be the stronghold of the opposition New Patriotic Party point to the fact of intimidation and agonizing violence, yet, the mass of established men of God have announced prophecies from the Almighty as to which of the eight presidential contestants has been anointed.

THE intimidation and threats of death on other NPP Parliamentary candidates particularly at Winneba in the central Region over the weeks appears to be fueling sympathy for the NPP and its candidate Nana Akufo Addo. The history of a seemingly organized agenda dating back from the stable of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) leaked from Shai Hills last March by an informant, may have been the very first strokes that set off the angry outburst of fire.

On that occasion, vivid inference to AGENDA 2012 where a five-point agenda on hemming in NPP votes in 180 targeted constituencies of the opposition NPP was set in motion, and this does not look a big plus for the ruling Party. References to THE ASHANTI PROJECT, THE EASTERN MODUS, GA ISSUES, TRIBALISM and PARTY SECURITY have made the mass of especially floating voters who may decide the winner jittery, even though no assurances whatsoever have come from government.

In much the same way issues of the Yaw Boateng tape, allegations of official collusion with the Electoral Commission, slow down or breakdown of electoral machines and the threat of no verification have still not been resolved. Official word in town says, the NDC envisage to amass 30 per cent of Ashanti votes to cruise to victory and everything is being done to intimidate Ashanti voters, whose numbers often catapult the NPP to increased figures to dwindle this time around.

In this direction therefore 40 unlicensed pick-ups, arms cache, beefy and well-muscled lads believed to be ballot box snatchers, reports of the importation of stuffed ballot boxes under NADMO’s thumb have been dispatched to the Ashanti, Northern, Upper East and West regions to allegedly do the bidding of the ruling Party.

On the other hand, the opposition NPP which has been castigated for its ALL DIE BE DIE mantra have rather played it cool and collected, and trust in the fibre of their being that God upstairs will dispatch his angels from heaven just as he did in 2008, and return the NPP into power.
