Sunyani, Oct. 8, GNA - The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has appealed to the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church to help rehabilitate flood victims in the three northern regions. Nana Atta Fena, Brong-Ahafo Regional Coordinator of NADMO who made the appeal at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Penkwase SDA church in Sunyani, expressed optimism that the appeal would yield positive results.

The celebration was under the theme "20 years in Adventism: challenges and way forward in nation building." Nana Atta Fena said the government recognized the contribution of the SDA church to nation building and would continue to partner with it for the accelerated growth of the country.

Pastor Frederick Adjei-Baah, President of Mid-West Ghana Conference of SDA, urged members to remain faithful, trustworthy and obedient as Christians to ensure the growth of the church. "A rotten church is a rotten nation", he said and appealed to members to lead exemplary lives and contribute their quota to the development of the country. Pastor Adjei-Baah expressed regret about the alarming rate of indecent dressing among the youth of the church and called on parents and members to help check the trend. The NADMO Coordinator presented GHC200 (2 million cedis) to the church, which also donated GHC50 (500,000 cedis) to Sulemana Nuhu, the swollen jaw patient now recuperating at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after an operation. 08 Oct 07
