Driving home from work in the evening or returning after a hectic day can be quite a struggle if you live at Adenta, Dodowa, Aburi, Agbogba, Ashaley Botwe, Legon and its environs because of the long stretch of traffic.
It is especially worse off as the traffic lights situated at the intersection of the Madina Ritz junction has malfunctioned for well over a month according to residents in the area.
Drivers heading towards Adenta, Dodowa, Aburi, Agbogba, Ashale Botwe, Legon usually ‘fight’ their way through between the hours of 7PM and 9PM as there are no Police personnel present to direct traffic.
A National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) official, Mrs. Margaret Ansah obviously devastated by the perils of the faulty traffic lights to other drivers took it upon herself to direct the traffic each time she got there on her way home.
“Every time I reach here I conduct the traffic before the Policemen will come…” she stated.
Several drivers and residents have complained about the resulting carnage on the road since the traffic lights went off. According to them the Police are only present to direct the traffic during the day but are usually absent in the evenings, creating a lot of congestion and havoc.
