Among the contenders, one name stands out prominently; Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh, the constituency treasurer and biological brother of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh’s campaign posters have surfaced on social media, signaling his clear intent to contest the upcoming party primary election scheduled for Sunday, July 14th.
His candidacy has sparked considerable interest and speculation within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) circles, where several aspirants are positioning themselves for the coveted position.
Alongside Nana Owusu Afriyie Prempeh, other notable figures have emerged as contenders for the parliamentary seat.
Nana Ama Timah, deputy chief executive at the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation, lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, and Akwasi Coker Gyambibi are among those who have expressed their aspirations publicly.
Additionally, lawyer Kingsley Bonsu Kyeretwie, the second vice chairman for the NPP in Manhyia South, is actively engaging with party delegates to garner support for his candidacy.
The constituency has been represented by NAPO since 2008.
