NCA fines: Affected radio stations to hit streets on Nov. 14

Owners and workers of Radio stations which were slapped with fines by the National Communications Authority (NCA) for failing to renew their expired operating licenses will be demonstrating on November 14, 2017.

The demonstration dubbed ‘Yentua’ will start around 10:am at Obra Spot (circle) through to the Ring Road, Ako Adjei Interchange, Parliament and end at the International Press Center.

About 131 radio stations were fined after the NCA conducted a nationwide FM Spectrum Audit.

A statement signed by Director of communications Alliance for Responsible Citizens (AFRC), organisers of the demonstration said the event will be on facebook live for the international community to observe.

The Alliance For Responsible Citizens (AFRC) wishes to announce to our cherished supporters that, the Regional Police Command has agreed to our route for theYenTua demonstration against National Communication Authority scheduled for Tuesday 14th November, 2017.

We urge all affected media houses, listeners and sympathizers to join our call for the #YenTuaDEMO.

All protocol have been observed.

We are therefore embarking on the Demonstration following the route which has been agreed upon by the AFRC and the Greater Accra Regional Police Command;

1. Obra Spot (circle)

2. Through the Ring Road

3. To the Ako Adjei Interchange

4. To Afrikiko Traffic Light

5 . To the Flagstaff House

6. Then to Independence Avenue

7. To Parliament House

8. Finally, to the International Press Center.

This event will be on facebook live for the international community to observe.
