“Madam First Lady, you are welcome to the historic State of Georgia and I have the singular honor to present to you this bouquet from the Atlanta Branch of the Great NDC Party”*. Those were the words of sixteen year old *Miss Vladimira Offebea Asinor* of Lithia Springs High School when she welcomed the President and the First Lady to Atlanta.
The next day was a very busy day for the President when he visited Kennesaw State University for a series of talks.
NDC Atlanta was able to put a class of investors together to meet with the President. This was to help our NDC’s “Better Ghana Agenda”. Dr. Thomas Mensah who is the only black inventor of “Fiber Optics” and an author of a book titled “*The Right Stuff Comes in Black”** *was able to bring Wall Street investors including Mr. Robert Murphy, former vice chairman of New York Stock Exchange. Also present was a US Astronaut from Houston, Mr. Robert Bobby Satcher.
At a reception for the President hosted by Governor Nathan Deal at his mansion, Dr. Thomas Mensah presented two of his books to H.E. President John Mahama.
The Chairman of NDC Atlanta, Mr. Richard Aikins led the Branch executives to have a short discussion with the Central Regional Minister Hon. Samuel Sarpong, the CEO of Ghana Investment Promotion Center, Mrs. Mawuena Trebarh, and Dr Raymond Atuguba, the Executive Secretary at the Presidency.
Chairman Richard Aikins in his joint solidarity message on behalf of the two Branches (Atlanta and Florida) congratulate the President and affirm their full support for his leadership. The team was re-assured of the continuous efforts of NDC in the Diaspora to reach out to the business and investment community in their respective states to complement the developmental programs of the government.
