The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Mustapha Gbande, has assured Ghanaians that they can expect a united front from the party ahead of its campaign launch.
According to him, the grand event is strategically planned to address party members in the region, and the flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, will appeal to aggrieved members to unite and work towards securing victory for the party.
Speaking exclusively to GhanaWeb’s Ishmael Batoma, Gbande stated that today’s declaration will lead to the removal of the ruling government in December.
“Ghanaians should expect a call for unity, a united army is a strong army. Ghanaians should expect the leader of the party to call for all our disgruntled members to rise up to the occasion and join so that we can all win together. The most important thing is that we have to work together, we have to work as a family, we have to pursue this National cause together,” he noted.
The vibrant atmosphere in Tamale shows members and supporters of the party assembling at the Jubilee Park in large numbers amid drumming and dancing.
Party paraphernalia can be seen displayed at the event grounds and the township.
Heavy security presence has also been observed.
