Accra, Nov. 27, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday congratulated Ghanaian Muslims on the occasion of the Eid-Ul-Adha celebrations.

A statement issued by Mr Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary of the party in Accra said the NDC joined Muslims in the country to give thanks to Allah for another peaceful year as well as his abundant blessings. It said Muslims should take the opportunity to consolidate friendships and organise activities that would be beneficial to their communities. The party called on Muslims to use the occasion to pray for long lasting peace and prosperity and congratulated all pilgrims to Mecca for successfully concluding the journey to renew their faith. The party advised Muslims to live above reproach and ensure that they served as a positive vessel for Allah.

The NDC commended the Hajj Council, the government and some corporate entities for the mistake- free Hajj this year. "We wish to commend all those involved who made this happen and pray that the process will be refined and strengthened so that past mistakes are not repeated", it said.

Muslim leaders were urged to counsel their youth to celebrate the festival in moderation to make it incident free.
