Tens of thousands of delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituencies of the Greater Accra Region have declared their readiness to vote massively for an aspiring presidential candidate of the party, Mr Goosie Tanoh to be the next presidential candidate for the NDC for 2020 general elections.

They stressed that looking at the track records, ideology, leadership quality and principles of the six aspiring presidential candidates who contesting the presidential slot of the NDC, they believed that Mr Tanoh has what it takes to win the political power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2020 general elections.

According to them, Mr Tanoh has the widest cross-party appeal of all can-didates and that he can heal the wounds and draw all the disgruntled sym-pathisers, supporters and members, particularly the floating voters back to NDC who would vote in favour of the party in 2020 polls.

“All the six aspiring candidates of the NDC are qualified to be a flagbearers of the NDC but Goosie is more qualify to lead the NDC to win the general elections in 2020.

“He would help the executives of the party to restructure the party structure at the grassroots levels to help win power from the NPP government which has mismanaged the economic, so lam telling the delegates to vote for Mr Tanoh because he will unite party members and seek the welfare of Ghanaians" some delegates in Accra had said after meeting Goosie Tanoh.

The delegates gave assurance when Mr Tanoh began the 2nd-leg of his cam-paign tour to the Greater Accra Region.

Throughout his engagements of the delegates in the constituencies in the re-gion, delegates assured Mr. Goosie Tanoh of victory as they were prepared to ”change the NDC 2016 driver” who drove the party into a ditch by send-ing the NDC into opposition after winning 2008 and 2012 presidential elec-tions.

According to them, the NDC need the floating voters to win in 2020, adding that Goosie is charismatic and that he will deliver the floating votes.

For his part, Mr Tanoh asked party delegates to consider a candidate with a proven track record when electing the party’s presidential candidate on February 23.

He urged delegates to vote for a candidate that will unite party members and seek the welfare of Ghanaians and appealed to delegates not sell their votes for a pittance

“Do not vote for someone because you’ve been given GH¢200 or GH¢50 because you may vote for the person based on the money you were given and not on a track record.

"You may stock your room with the money you’ve been given or stock your room with bags of rice given to you by some individuals to vote for a particular candidate but the items will not last forever.

“You will then call the person on phone and he will pretend as if he does not know you and drop the line on you. So vote wisely, vote Goosie Tanoh to bring you jobs, food security universal affordable healthcare, social housing and policies that would improve your living condition," he urged.

Mr Tanoh’s position on the ballot for the February 23 poll is number 6.

Information available indicates that Mr Tanoh is in fact making loads of waves with his grassroots campaign carved under his “Rising To-gether Campaign Tour.”

Additionally, Mr Tanoh’s demeanour and political maturity anytime he is addressing delegates have become motivating factors for many of the delegates to root for him,” an NDC delegate in the Greater Accra Region told journalists.

Mr Tandoh has already toured and engaged delegates in ten regions of the country where he received overwhelming support for his message of grassroots empowerment.
