Alhaji Suraji Gebril, popularly known as Homeboy, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Organizer for the Germany Chapter, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all members of the party, particularly those in the diaspora and Germany, for their unwavering support and contributions that led to the party's resounding success in the just-ended 2024 national elections.
In a statement, Alhaji Gebril acknowledged the collective efforts and sacrifices of party members and supporters who worked tirelessly to secure victory for the NDC.
He noted that the dedication of members in the diaspora, especially in Germany, played a significant role in energising the party's base and ensuring a united front during the campaign period.
“This victory belongs to all of us. It is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together with a common purpose. I am immensely proud of the NDC family for their resilience, commitment, and belief in our vision for a better Ghana,” he said.
Alhaji Gebril extended his congratulations to the president-elect, John Dramani Mahama, and expressed his best wishes for a successful term of leadership.
He invoked God's guidance for the president-elect, emphasising the importance of divine wisdom in leading the nation towards progress and prosperity.
As the party transitions into governance, Alhaji Gebril called on all potential appointees and leaders within the party to give their utmost efforts in supporting the president-elect to deliver on the NDC’s promises to Ghanaians.
He reminded them of the high expectations of the citizenry and the need to prioritise the welfare of the people in all decisions and actions.
“The NDC and President Mahama cannot afford to fail Ghanaians. This is a critical moment for our nation, and we must rise to the occasion. Every appointee, every party member, and every supporter has a role to play in ensuring that we fulfill our mandate and transform the lives of our people,” he added.
Alhaji Gebril reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the NDC and the incoming administration in any capacity needed, urging members to remain united and steadfast in their resolve to build a stronger and more inclusive Ghana.
He also encouraged constructive feedback and active participation from the diaspora community to ensure that the party remains accountable and transparent in its governance.
Concluding his statement, Alhaji Gebril reiterated his gratitude to all NDC members, especially those in Germany, for their exemplary dedication and loyalty to the party’s cause.
He expressed optimism about the future of Ghana under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC government.
“Together, we have made history. Together, we will build a Ghana that we can all be proud of,” he said.
