NDC Holland congratulates President Mahama; slams media

Tue, 24 Nov 2015 Source: NDC Holland

Ghanaians in the diaspora (across the globe) , watched with eagle eyes and elephant ears as the National Democratic Congress embarked on its primaries to vote in officers that will not only highlight the government's achievements over the past 7years and endorse President John Dramani Mahama as the party's flag bearer for 2016, but also work with integrity towards our nation's developmental agenda for the people of Ghana.

Various radio stations across Europe and the USA, notably Akasanoma (USA/The Netherlands based) , Efrititi Radio (Holland based), The Source (UK based), Akwaaba (Germany-based) , Hi-Radio (Holland based) etc just to name a few, all did justice in bringing updates on the primaries to their various listeners across the globe.

It was indeed unfortunate, that some unscrupulous elements of the opposition NPP party tried to interfere with the internal elections of the National Democratic Congress, by spreading rumours on social media about missing names in the NDC registry, leading to some disruptive skirmishes in some parts of the country.

This led Ghanaians across the board to express concerns and to urge government/policy makers to use these incidents as TEST CASES so as to come out with measures that can ensure that this doesn't occur come November 7th 2016, because social media is becoming a rather dangerous tool to our national security and this should be addressed and addressed properly to nip this level of indiscipline out. Some narratives blame Media houses , and insist that media houses should be held accountable to whatever information they release onto social media, so that they would have to check and cross check any information reaching them before they issue it out into their various platforms, because this primaries also exposed the flaws in credibility of some media houses in our beloved country.

Members of the NDC Holland branch would like to take this opportunity to congratulate His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama on the overwhelming mandate given him to lead our party into victory come 2016. Members would also like to congratulate all the winning elected officials of our Party, and trust that with the primaries over, we can all rally behind party colours/ranks to ensure that Ghana's transformation is manifested in the lives of all Ghanaians.

Long live Ghana.
