Mr Adamu Seini Mansu, the man who reported former President Jerry John Rawlings to the Police headquarters for allegedly assaulting him at Ashaiman, says he is being harassed by the National Democratic Congress, NDC, for daring to take that action against the founder of the party.

In an interview with Newsmen on Tuesday, Seini Mansu, alias Fuseini, called on the Ashaiman branch of NDC to stop harassing him, and notes that his problem is not with the party of which he is a member, but rather Rawlings, whom he still maintains treated him unjustifiably for which he is seeking redress.

He has challenged the Ashaiman NDC to explain why the party has sent emissaries to him to drop the case, and be compensated when they are simultaneously and ironically disputing the fact that the offence did not happen, after all.

Fuseini also debunked the disclaimer of the Ashaiman NDC that he is not a member of the party, and asked them how a person becomes and adherent of a political grouping.

He asked: ?Is it by birth or by belonging to a particular ethnic group in the country that one becomes a member??

He added that, but for the attitude of NDC toward him, since he reported the case to the Police, he would have withdrawn the case. He stated unequivocally that ?because of the way they are behaving, the law should take its course. I am not going to withdraw the case from the Police Headquarters, let them say anything that they wish to say. I know I am not being mischievous, but rather seeking redress for a wrong meted out to me by the former head of state.?

Mr Rawlings, he told Daily Guide, ?has not given up hope of meeting me face to face?, after what he described as ?that despicable act from a former head of state?. It will be recalled that members of the Ashaiman Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had stated that Fuseini Adams, who alleged the former President Jerry John Rawlings assaulted him, has never been a member of the party.

They stated that he was rather a known member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who only deals in mobile phones in Ashaiman and not a resident of the area. This was contained in a press release signed by the constituency secretary, Mr Bawa Ibrahim, in reaction to a publication in the media to the effect that Fuseini was a member of NDC.

It explained that NDC members in the constituency were dissatisfied with Fuseini?s claim of being a member of the party, stressing that ?we see this development as a scheme designed to hide his real motive pertaining to the alleged assault on him by the former president.?

The release observed that those who witnessed the incident were ready to testify to the truth and ?expose the lies and the hidden political agenda of Fuseini.? For those who think they can use elders within his family to convince him to drop the case, he stated: ?they are not going to make any headway, because as an adult of age 28, I can take decisions on my own.
