Controversial lawmaker for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyepong has disclosed that the Minority side in Ghana’s parliament is certain some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot escape jail.

He observed that the level of corruption visited on the Ghanaian economy by these persons he refused to name while in office, justifies his entrenched proposition that they should be prosecuted and thrown into jail to serve as a deterrent to others.

Speaking on Oman FM’s National Agenda Show on Wednesday, Mr Kennedy Agyepong, observed that Minority NDC MPs are pretty much aware that some of their members will go to jail hence their determination to frustrate the passage of the Special Prosecutor’s Bill.

“They know some of their members will go to jail that is why they are frustrating the Special Prosecutors Bill. But they should get ready because we cannot allow people to engage in corrupt practices and get away with it”, he stated.

The NPP firebrand has always maintained that if the current government fails to prosecute and jail past corrupt appointees they should forget the 2020 elections because they will incur the wrath of Ghanaians.

“The more they delay, the more concrete evidence is shielded from the public. I think the processes to haul these past appointees before the court should begin immediately before the IPP is put in place in the future. I am aware a docket for the prosecution of 5 officials including Dr Opuni is ready by the CID”, he revealed

According to him, the time is ripe for the current administration to pay back past officials who wreaked havoc to the Ghanaian economy including the likes of Dr Stephen Opuni in their own coin.

“Some of them I believe were just specially created to destroy Ghana. It is time we make him pay for his bad deeds”, he emphasized.
