The Ghana Police Service has arrested Fatawu Ibrahim, popularly known as Fatau Motorway, who was declared wanted in connection with the recent disturbances that occurred between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress. (NDC)

A statement issued by the police on Thursday, October 24, 2024, noted, "Suspect Fatawu Ibrahim was captured in video footage with a gun during the disturbances in which two people were allegedly shot and injured. He is in currently in police custody and will be put the court in due course."

On October 13, 2024, a routine political campaign walk at Mamobi in Accra turned violent when a group of motorbike riders from the NDC side confronted NPP supporters, leading to a verbal altercation that quickly turned physical.

Two people were allegedly shot, with four others sustaining injuries.

The police swiftly intervened by deploying the Regional Police Command to contain the situation and prevent further violence.
