Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Tamale Municipality have expressed shock at twisted reports that they instigated violence in Tamale last Sunday.

Showing pictures of the burnt out offices of the Tamale Central Constituency office of the party the supporters said there was a conscious campaign to sow seeds of confusion and fear because the Northern regions are strongholds of the party.

Constituency Chairman Alhaji Jemoni had three of his houses and eight vehicles burnt a well calculated locate and destroy campaign initiated to coincide with the arrival of Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, NPP Vice-Presidential candidate to the region.

Members of the NDC in Tamale say they are convinced the violence was a clear ploy from their opponents to label them as violent by creating the impression that Dr Bawumia?s presence in Tamale was not welcome.

?We know those behind these actions and we shall expose them,? they promised.
