An activist of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) vying for one of the National Executive positions in the upcoming internal elections of the party, Abdul Aziz Mohammed, popularly known as Zongo Commando, has vowed to win the impending contest to help his party secure victory in 2020 elections.

"I want to win to assist the party to employ legitimate measures to secure victory in the 2020 elections", he promised.

He said following widespread dissatisfaction and disappointment among Ghanaians in just two years into the administration of President Akuffo Addo, the signs were already clear that the NDC was on its way to victory in 2020

"The average Ghanaian can feel the heat of bad governance. The ordinary man in the streets can attest to all the ongoing negative developments in the country. That's why I am certain that NDC would win 2020 elections unconditionally", he said.

Addressing journalists after picking his nomination forms on Saturday to officially announce his candidature as one of the contestants for the position of Zong Caucus Coordinator, he said his victory in the NDC national elections would mark the beginning of the legitimate fight the party would take into the 2020 battle.

"The reason is simple. All Zongo communities in the country would play an instrumental role in shaping the campaign that the NDC would mount. I am fully aware of the task ahead and ever prepared to lead Zongo communities into the elections" he said.

According to the Accountant turned politician, aside traditional supporters of the NDC, he would work with all legitimate team members of the party to touch many more souls in the Zongo communities to rally behind NDC. "This is because, we need all hands on deck"

Known by his peers as Jah Brother, the boisterous politician said when he emerges victorious at congress as the first Zongo Caucus Coordinator of the party, he would apply four thematic measures to improve the voting pattern of the NDC.

"First of all, I will bring together all losing candidates to join the functional working committee I intend to form to work in the Zongo communities", he vowed.

Next, he explained he would look for resources to empower all branches of the party in the Zongo communities just to make sure they become viable and vibrant for organizational purposes.

In addition, he announced that following the creation of this position, he would become the first person to occupy that office, and therefore, he would form, reform, and transform the message of the NDC to diffuse misinformation being peddled and capture the Zongo communities.

"Finally, my ultimate goal as the chief operations officer in the Zongo communities, would center on making Zongo communities an integral part of our organization as a party. We all know that organization decides everything", he pointed out.

Expressing the confidence reposed in him by many party stalwarts following his decision to contest, the man tipped to win the position said nonetheless, he would not underrate any of the six contestants vying for the position.

"We need a resounding victory. Therefore we would not underestimate anyone in this contest. Though i am the youngest in the race, I stand tall, and obviously must win hands down", he noted with optimism.
