The Deputy Transport Minister, Dzifa Aku Attivor, has

declared that the NDC in the Volta region is working very hard to ensure

that it wins all the parliamentary seats

in the region in the 2012 general elections , including the yet to be created

constituencies.

“The social democratic orientation of the NDC makes it the

most attractive grouping to the masses throughout the country, especially the

rural dwellers” she says.

According to her, the numerous social interventions such

as the distribution of free uniforms, free exercise books and expanded school

feeding put in place by the government has contributed tremendously in improving

the lot of many Ghanaians.

The Deputy Minister made the remarks at the Nkwanta

North constituency primaries to elect the NDC candidate for the only orphan

constituency in the region. She assured the people of the area of the

commitment of the government of Prof. John Evans Atta Mills to ensure that the

region receives its fair share of the national cake.

“I want to say without any shred of doubt that the

Volta region will continue to receive its share of development”.

According to Dzifa Attivor, the Eastern corridor roads which runs through the

constituency is a

priority programme for the government, adding that everything is being done to

ensure its execution.

She also touched on the positive impact of the

Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) assuring the people that its

implementation will improve their lot.

The Regional Chairman of the NDC, Kwesi Aboagye,

said the signs are on the wall that there is no way that the opposition can win

the Nkwanta North seat again, especially in 2012.

He lauded the DCE for the great sacrifice he made by

stepping down, adding that it’s a sign of maturity and integrity.

For his part, the Constituency Chairman, Alhaji

Abdul Anas Anakwa, appealed to the national leadership for support to be able

to annex the seat from the NPP.

John Oti Bless, who was endorsed as the NDC

candidate for Nkwanta North by popular acclamation after the other contestant ,

Paul Gyato, who is the DCE, stepped down said he will work hard to unite all

interest groups within the party for total victory.

On his part, Paul Gyato said the government has done

more than enough for the NDC to win the seat. He said the area has seen

tremendous infrastructural development since President Mills took over the

reigns of leadership.

He assured the candidate of his unflinching support

adding that never will the NPP win the Nkwanta North seat again.

Also present at the function was the Regional

Oragniser, Henry Ametefe, Regional Secretary, Simon Viglo, the Regional Youth

Organiser, Maxwell Siaw as well as Kwadwo Gyapong, a leading member of the

party in the region.
