Tamale (N/R), Feb 13,GNA - Tamale Metro National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Coalition has condemned the 93all die be die" statement made= by the New Patriotic Party Flag bearer and called on him to retract it immediately.

The coalition said such a statement 93could have diverse meaning, for which one of the meanings could be, inciting the followers of NPP to sacrifice their lives for him to come to power".

Addressing a press conference in Tamale on Saturday, Mr Alidu Basharu, Secretary of the Coalition, called on Nana Akufo Addo to 93note that a mer= e statement can plunge the nation into chaos and that he should be careful with the way he is campaigning" in order not to disturb the peace the country was enjoying under President Mills.

Nana Akufo Addo, addressing supporters of the NPP earlier this week in the Eastern Region, was reported to have said that "for the 2012 elections all die be die" and that "We are going to match the NDC boot for boot and that nothing will be left to chance".

In reference to the violence at Atiwa during the by-election last year= , the NPP flag bearer was reported to have said: "The Atiwa by-election showe= d just a little of what we are capable of doing and that "They say we Akans are feeble or afraid and that once violence breaks we run away. We are brav= e people". Mr Basharu alluded that per such a statement, the NPP Flag bearer "wants to use all means to become the president of Ghana" adding such reckless pronouncements plunged some nations into war leading to the loss o= f innocent lives.

He said the good policies being implemented by President Mills were a source of worry to the NPP Flag bearer adding, that was why he (Nana Akufo Addo) wanted to distort such achievements to enable him to become president= .. "Nana Akufo Addo is perturbed and wanting to divert the attention of the good people of Ghana about the declaration made by the President that 2012 is an action year. It is evident that the action has begun by breaking grounds to construct thirty thousand housing units for the security personnel who are sacrificing their dear lives for mother Ghana", he said= .. Mr Basharu called on Nana Akufo Addo to be circumspect of his utterances if he wanted the country to remain a peaceful and lovely place for investors to come and do business.

He said the Coalition found it ridiculous the way the Communication wing of the NPP was trying hard to defend the reckless statement made by th= e party's Flag bearer.

He said members of the Coalition 93are far from intimidation and that= no amount of threat and intimidation can prevent us from defending our party= ". 13 Feb. 11
