Koforidua, June 11, GNA - The Eastern Regional Organiser of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr Tawiah Boateng, has urged members of the party to work hard if the hope of the party to win the 2008 elections should become a reality. According to him, though a majority of the people of Ghana had lost confidence in the government of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) due to bad governance, that "party will not sit down to be easily voted out of power but would put in every thing to continue to stay in power to cover up their past misdeeds."
Mr Boateng, who was addressing a meeting of the New Juaben South constituency branch of the NDC at Koforidua on Friday, called on the members to organize and elect hard working members to lead the party to win at all the polling stations. He said the party must improve upon its performance in the two constituencies in the New Juaben Municipality to contribute their quota to the votes from other parts of the country to win the 2008 elections. He confirmed the holding of the party's national congress in September at Tamale, saying all constituencies were, therefore, expected to complete the election of their branch executives by the end of June.
Nana Opoku Nontweri, the New Juaben South Constituency Third Vice-Chairman of the party, reminded the members that the party belonged to all of them so they should pay their dues and contribute towards its running
