The National Democratic Congress NDC and the Reform Party have explained that they were not represented at the NPP’s National delegates congress because they were not invited. The General Secretary of the Reform Party Kyeretwie Opoku told JOY-FM that the Party would have been represented if it had received an invitation.
The General secretary of the NDC Alhaji Huudu Yahya also explained that as the main opposition Party, it did not receive an invitation.
He said even though he was away in Kumasi, at the Weekend, he instructed staff at the National Headquarters to honour any formal invitation to attend the congress.
Another opposition party which was not represented at the NPP congress was the United Ghana Movement which according to founder and leader, Dr Charles Y. Wereko Brobbey is on leave.
The Great Consolidated Popular Party, the Convention People’s party and the Peoples National Convention delivered solidarity messages in which they declared their support for the Governments efforts at meeting the aspirations of Ghanaians.
