New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, otherwise known as Sir John, is highly convinced that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would falter in restoring integrity to the presidency as demanded by its Founder, Jerry John Rawlings.
Sharing his thoughts on the call by Mr. Rawlings on an Accra based radio station, Sir John opined that the latter's assertion was cogent evidence that the NDC administration have performed abysmally since taking over power in 2008.
The party's founder at the NDC delegates’ congress in Kumasi on Thursday, challenged President Dramani Mahama to restore integrity to the presidency, if he is to succeed as president.
Mr. Rawlings in his statement also made a clarion call on the party's supporters domiciled abroad to come home and join in the campaigning to renew the mandate of the NDC in December.
To the NPP general secretary, the current state of affairs clearly demonstrate that President Mahama's administration was not in a position to salvage the fortunes of the NDC, stressing that serious defeat stirs in the face of the party in December.
Sir John, however believed that, a bit of pride could be restored if loudmouths such as Deputy Information Minister, Okudzeto Ablakwa, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye and Asiedu Nketia are dismissed from the corridors of power...
“... but we know that John Mahama will not sack them and if John is not going to sack them, then it pre-supposes that Rawlings is not coming back, and it means the NDC is going to opposition,” he added.
