The National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth wing has condemned alleged attacks on some NDC youths that occurred on September 7, 2024, in the Ahafo Region.
In a statement posted on X and signed by George Opare Addo, the National Youth Organizer of the NDC, he said that the attackers ransacked the home of the party’s former constituency chairperson in the region.
Additionally, the Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer, Masawudu Suleman, was assaulted at the same residence that was targeted, the statement said.
“On September 7, 2024, some NDC youth were unjustifiably attacked by NPP thugs. The home of our former Constituency Chairperson in the affected area was ransacked, and the Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer, Masawudu Suleman, was assaulted in the same residence,” parts of the statement read.
The party has since issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Ahafo Regional Police to arrest individuals responsible for the attacks.
They have warned that they will consider taking retaliatory measures if the police fails to meet demands by the deadline.
“The Ahafo Regional Police have 48 hours to arrest the culprits, or we will retaliate with full force,” the statement added.
