Accra, Dec. 20, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Thursday expressed support for the statement made by Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary of the Party to the effect that: " all 17 presidential aspirants of the New Patriotic Party were all thieves who were going to elect a senior thief."

A statement read by Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Deputy General Secretary of the Party, who was flanked by Dr. Kwabena Agyei, Chairman and Mr. Fiifi Akwetey, Propaganda Secretary of the Party pointed out that it appeared the NPP was in self delusion and had lost touch with the sentiments of the majority of Ghanaians who voted them into power. Mr. Ankrah said it seemed the NPP have treated lightly the numerous complaints, protests, allegations and in some instances confessions by several sympathizers, supporters, delegates and executives on the display and questionable source of monies. The NDC cited a lot of instances in the media where some of the aspirants themselves complained about their colleagues' display of wealth. Mr Ankrah said: "We insist and maintain that the culture of moneycracy is part of the NPP's electioneering strategy."

"If the aspirants are concerned about our General Secretary's use of the word thieves, would they be more comfortable with the word corruption?" he asked Dr Kwabena Agyei said the NDC had been too quiet about how the NPP was conducting itself, however it was time to make them know they were corrupt.
