Mahama Worried

If you ever thought everything was well with the National Democratic Congress, then you must be wobbling in half-baked truth.

Managing editor of the Al Hajj newspaper, Alhaji Bature has revealed that President Mahama and “godfathers” of the NDC are at logger heads due to the way they have been treated under his watch.

He claims under the leadership of the current president, those who have tirelessly worked for the NDC seems to have been sidelined. According to him, many NDC sympathizers do not feel attached to the party and can’t boast of being proud members of the party.

Based on this, he insists there are plans to bring on board formidable candidates that would contest President Mahama in the upcoming elections if nothing is done about the situation.

Reasons behind the brawl

Speaking on OKAY FM, Mr. Bature said top notch within the NDC were not happy about the leadership style of President Mahama and awed they were not consulted before ministerial appointments took place.

“Some of them believe their contribution towards the selections and appointment of ministers was brushed off, and this caused the problem,” Alhaji Bature noted.

Another issue which spiked the “godfathers” according to the Al Hajj editor had to do with the renaming of the Jubilee Flagstaff House. He claims the renaming of the place was proposed by a fragment within government and not an entire party decision.

Another signal he picked up was that most appointees of President Mahama “were not happy the wings” of people they draw inspiration from have been clinched. Also, most of these appointees were worried their “godfathers” don’t have a voice in decision-making.

Plot to challenge President Mahama deepens

Unlike the willingness to defend the late former President Mills to the hilt, President Mahama currently enjoys scintilla of that.

In the light of the election petition which has been filed at the Supreme Court, Alhaji Bature tells us that little has been done to cleanse the magnitude of allegations supporters of the petitioners have charged President Mahama with.

“People are planning to put up candidates in the upcoming NDC primaries to contest the president. It is not only one group, but it is a lot of people who are thinking about either trying to get a common candidate,” he said.

According to him, he once interviewed some of the communicators of the party, and they poured out their heart to him. They indicated to him that out of the blue, certain “strangers” have access to dine and wine with the president whilst they don’t have that opportunity. This has left them in the cold hence their decision to ditch him in days when he would need them most.
